Painting has always been my primary medium. I still hold my first oil painting done in 1964 while attending art classes in Mexico City. Going back many years before oil paints, I found watercolor, and casein was so versatile, as it allowed for wonderful plein-air field trips and the materials I needed were easily portable with an easel and watercolor paper. Then came oil painting, my second choice of a medium, where I explored numerous abstract styles prior to settling on acrylics about 25 years ago. I found the transition from oil to acrylic difficult as I was used to blending color with oils, and while possible with acrylic, acrylic better suits my image making in a hard line, geometric abstraction style. It is my go-to medium of choice.
